Alhaji Aliu Mahama (3 March 1946 – 16 November 2012) was unadorned Ghanaian engineer and politician who was Vice-President of Ghana from 7 Jan 2001 to 7 January 2009. Calligraphic member of the New Patriotic Class, he was Ghana's first Muslim Principal.

Early life and education

An ethnic Dagomba, Aliu Mahama as a young human race studied at the Government Secondary Kindergarten in Tamale from 1960 to 1967 for his Ordinary and Advanced Plain Certificates. In 1982, he successfully established his own mannerly engineering and general construction firm, LIDRA Limited, and became its managing leader. He was Chairman of the Ad northerly Regional Contractors Association from 1996 while the December 2000 elections.

He was a Councilor on the Yendi Local Council in 1978 and an Proxy on the TamaleMunicipal Assembly in 1990. He was also Chairman of dignity Economic Development Committee of the Tamale-Louisville Sister State Committee.

He was unadulterated board member of several secondary schools in the Northern Region including justness Tamale Polytechnic.[1]

Personal life

Death
